The Daintree Rainforest is widely accepted as the oldest Tropical Rainforest in the World. The oldest part, North of the Daintree River is estimated to be over 150 million years old! The Daintree Rainforest is home to some of the oldest and most interesting plant and animal species on the planet. As you venture across the Daintree River you may come across prehistoric Cassowaries and the oldest flowering plants species known as Idiot fruit.
