Description

Take an adventure on the largest moving sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere in one of Sand Dune Safaris purpose built 13 seat Hummer and 21 seat Coaster 4WD vehicles. On our shuttle tour you will travel across the sand hills, driving up and down some very large dunes, to the Sandboarding area (shade and chairs provided). On this tour you will drive up and down some very large sand hills on the way to the sandboarding area (shade and chairs are provided), where you will go sandboarding down the massive dunes at breath taking speed (not for the faint hearted), but we do have some smaller dunes for those not so adventurous. On arrival you will be greeted by one of the instructor/guides who will instruct you on the safe usage of sandboarding, including sitting and standing up types. All instructors are certified in First Aid with first aid kits on site. Then on to an exciting fun filled drive along the beautiful Stockton Beach, catching some Pipis along the way. We drop in to Tin City which started in the late 1800′s when two tin huts were built as fishing shacks. In the Great Depression, Tin City grew to 14 huts. A number of movies have been made at this location, including parts of Mad Max. The pub still stands! We then travel on to the Sygna Shipwreck, a 58,000 ton Norwegian bulk carrier, blown ashore in 1974 by strong winds on its maiden voyage. On the return journey by road we may drop in to Murray’s Brewery for some free beer and wine tasting if time permits.
