Mogo Zoo is a privately owned zoo situated 10km south of Batemans Bay in the picturesque and historic gold mining village of Mogo. We are an organisation committed to the survival of endangered animals and provide world standard facilities for over 200 animals of more than 42 rare and exotic species, including the White Lions of 'Timbavati'. Mogo Zoo also boasts the largest collection of primates in any private zoo in Australia. As an institutional member of the zoo and aquariaum association, we work closely with all major Australasian zoos, cooperating in various species management programs. We are also actively involved in many global breeding programs. Mogo Zoo is a valuable tourism asset for the south coast. We attract visitors to the area, specifically to visit our zoo and media interest in our achievements continues to increase. We aim to involve and to educate the public at large and offer our visitors an intimate, educational zoo experience.

About ten minutes from Merimbula in the beautiful Bega Valley, savour the rare opportunity to see a koala, wander among the kangaroos, touch a snake, stroll through the cooling mist of the walk-through aviary, go for a ride on the mini train or have lunch and really good coffee at the Blue Wren Café. You can get up close to our kangaroos, emus peacocks and ducks who roam the park freely and hand feed them with an Animal Feed Bag. Potoroo Palace is a not-for-profit organisation passionate about caring for the Earth. Many of the animals at the sanctuary are native to the Merimbula area. We have seven Long-nosed Potoroos, Macropods such as Eastern Grey Kangaroos and a Swamp Wallaby, and two Bare-nosed Wombats. Short-beaked Echidnas and Long-nosed Bandicoots are all found in the Bega Valley, sometimes even entering our own backyards. Emus and even Dingoes can be found in the surrounding area. Koalas and Long-nosed Potoroos are very rare here now, but were once abundant. People come from all over the world to Australia to see our native animals.

The pristine waters off Merimbula are the perfect place for whale watching, fishing charters, dolphin cruises and boat hire. Merimbula Marina have tours and cruises leaving every day. There's always something to do. From mid August through to early December large numbers of humpback whales travel past Merimbula. In the waters of the Sapphire Coast they can be seen lateral lunge feeding, one of the few places in the world where humpbacks can be observed doing this!! Bring your swimmers and towel for a swim whilst we cook your BBQ lunch or dinner. We will take you to one of our beautiful swimming locations where you can take short dip or bring your snorkel and explore! Dolphin Cruises are for everyone!! This short 2 hour cruise takes in the spectacular scenery of the Merimbula Bay and its colourful coastline.

View the living theatre of the deep from 10am daily. Featuring mostly local marine life  you'll be amazed at the incredible life and colours on show! Fish Feeding always produces lots of action at 11.30am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Fish feeding is extended to Monday to Friday during school holidays. An in-depth tour of the aquarium is  available at 11.30 - 12.30 on Wednesdays.
